The BAHS Student Council would like to congratulate senior, Bailey Hoff for earning the January ELKS Teen of the Month nomination!
Bailey Hoff is a true leader exhibiting kindness, empathy, and strong communication skills. Bailey is dedicated to community involvement. Bailey Hoff is a leader not only in the classroom but in all activities that she pursues. Her tenacity, determination, and pursuit of excellence are key characteristics that explain her approach to life.
In addition to her rigorous course of study, Bailey manages to excel in a variety of extracurricular activities. In each of her activities, Bailey helps to mentor younger peers to promote a positive school culture. Bailey’s leadership role includes being an active role model and leader with our school’s chapter of the National Honor Society, Student Council, Spanish Honor Society, Model UN, BAHS Thespian Society, Class cabinet. Bailey has also learned a lot about leading her peers as Drum Major of our marching band.

The Pleasant Gap United Methodist Church is hosting a food drive throughout the month of January. Donations can be dropped off at 179 South Main Street, Pleasant Gap or to any homeroom teacher at the Bellefonte Area High School. They are accepting any non-perishable food donations.

In Mrs. Poorman’s Agriculture Sustainability class, students learn about different types of green energy. In these pictures, the students are learning about wind energy, and they built turbines to test the power of the wind. The collected knowledge on green energy will then be used for their final project, which is to construct a model of a green sustainable home.

Greetings, Bellefonte ASD readers! Teachers of the district are encouraging your children to read over the Winter Break with this fun activity of different ideas and suggestions for reading.
Both Elementary and Secondary Level students can fill out this form directly: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfuoDsT8RXsIah4iuhGCOxYk-6EBAFx2mOkDcStLX9hv8eNfQ/viewform
They only need to do one activity (but more is encouraged!) to be eligible to win a prize. When they return to school on January 3rd, teachers at the secondary level will encourage their students to fill out the form in class, if they haven't already done so.
At the Elementary Level, students can also complete the Reading Resolution Menu. This menu can be turned in directly to their teacher after the Winter Break. The menu handout is attached. If families would rather fill out the Google Form above, that is fine too.
Happy reading!
