
At the High School, Mrs. Eddinger’s College Prep Biology students conducted their annual phone bacteria study. Each student swabbed their phone and transferred residue to an agar plate in order to grow any bacteria found on their phone. Students completed an in-depth data analysis to compare an individual's habits to the amount of bacteria they found. They also used a special gram staining technique to view the bacteria in the microscope.

A group of high school students went to the Think We, Not Me organization to help with taking down an old fence so that a new one could be built. Think We, Not Me is a local organization that provides fresh, locally grown vegetables and fruit for free as part of their effort to eliminate food insecurity primarily within Centre County, PA.







Recently, the staff of BASD participated in the AI Action Figure challenge! Can you recognize any of the employees?


Pleasant Gap Elementary had a goal to read at least 1,000 books during the month of March for Read Across America. They earned this milestone and more - which gave the opportunity to turn Dr. Eckenroth into a pizza- cheese, sauce, toppings.. everything! Everyone had a super time at this assembly!




The BAHS Transition Arts students have been invited to create works of art for the Fiber Arts Showcase sponsored by Scraps & Skeins fabric shop and Strawberry Fields in celebration of the fabric shop’s 10th anniversary. This showcase features artwork made by community members around our region. Check out their gorgeous needle-felted pieces - hope to see you there!

Bellefonte Elementary was given a glow up over this past week. Bellefonte Elementary teachers stayed after school to paint fun activities on the blacktop for students during recess time!
And then the third graders spent a beautiful afternoon chalking the sidewalks with motivational sayings to help get the building ready for the PSSAs! They all had so much fun blowing bubbles and writing out their motivational sayings!

Pleasant Gap Elementary held their annual Art Show on April 16th. It was a fabulous display of color, design, ingenuity, and skill from our talented elementary students. Great job to Mrs. Shoemaker and her students!








Mike Arnold from SitelogIQ, the architecture firm that is in charge of building the new elementary school, presented to CPI students on Monday. He spoke about the importance of the trades in construction.


This group of BAMS students is part of the Superintendent's Student Advisory Committee (SuperSAC). They provide suggestions, visions, and ideas to the superintendent to help give their fellow peers the best opportunities that they can.


Today is Administrative Professionals Day! We have the greatest administrative professional staff. They keep everything flowing smoothly in our buildings and BASD appreciates you!


BAHS students travelled back in time to see the inner workings of Mount Vernon. Students had the opportunity to see a wreath ceremony and to lay their respects at President Kennedy’s memorial at Arlington National cemetery. Lastly, they travelled to the Air and Space museum to see famous planes that were used in wars of the 20th century. What a great experience for these young people!

On April 15, the staff of BASD wore purple to show support to our military families. Purple represents all branches of the military and honors the strength and sacrifices of our military families. We appreciate our military families!


There will be a School Board Meeting tomorrow (4/22) at 7:00PM in the Bellefonte Area Middle School Cafeteria. The public is encouraged to attend! The following meeting after tomorrow will occur on 5-6-25.


Through the GIANT Company’s Feeding School Kids initiative, Bellefonte Area School District announced it has received $5092.71 to expand its school food programs! The funding will be used to assist students with food insecurity issues and support families in need.
From Jan. 1 through March 31, customers at GIANT, MARTIN’S and GIANT Heirloom Market stores were invited to round up their grocery purchases to the nearest dollar or convert their CHOICE points into a donation to support their local public school districts’ food programs. Through The GIANT Company’s Feeding School Kids initiative, more than $7.6 million was raised to support meal programs and address food insecurity.
