Junior, Grace Angle was the first Bellefonte female golfer to qualify for LHAC Championships! The match took place on Thursday, September 18th at Ebensburg Country Club. At the match, Grace shot her personal best, placing 24th out of 54 golfers. Her score here helped her qualify for District Championships at Windber Country Club on October 2nd. Grace lowered her score again and shot her new personal best in competition and placed 13th overall. She had an incredibly strong finish to the year and is really looking forward to continuing this next season!

The BAHS Swim team had a great time at the Homecoming Parade in September! As their float made its way through the parade, they kept hearing surprised reactions from the crowd:
"Bellefonte has a swim team?!"
Yes—we do! And while it may be one of our smaller teams, it’s full of dedicated student-athletes who show up, work hard, and support each other every day.
The team is actively looking for new members—so if you’ve ever thought about giving swimming a try, now’s the time to jump in! Email the team at swimming@basd.net

Yesterday, all BAHS juniors and seniors traveled all over Centre County (and beyond) to volunteer their help for the annual United Way Day of Caring. Groups of students traveled to 18 different locations. They completed jobs such as weeding, mulching, picking up trash, raking leaves, building benches, mowing, picking apples, washing windows, washing vehicles, cleaning graves, and so much more! DOC is a great day for students to learn and apply volunteer work, network with others, and time to experience camaraderie. Great job to everyone involved, and thank you to the organizations that allowed these young men and women to attend their areas to volunteer!

In September, the 9th grade ELA classes wrote 6 word memoirs and chalked them out on the sidewalks for the students at staff at BAHS to read as they left and entered the building. A six-word memoir is a micro-autobiography that tells a story or captures the essence of a life or personal experience using exactly six words.

The Empty Place at the Table display provided by Centre Safe is now in the high school library. It will be in the library for the whole month of October for Domestic Violence Awareness Month. It is a representation of actual victims of domestic violence in Centre County.

The Bellefonte YMCA will be starting its Elementary Basketball and Recreational League this winter! Registration begins October 20th. Please see the graphic for more information.
They are also looking for volunteer coaches!
