5th Grade

My name is Jenna McGregor, and I am the 5th grade English Language Arts teacher here at Benner. I love being a Benner Bear!

Pictured above you will see myself, my husband, and my two beautiful children, Jonah and Joanna. I am originally from Altoona, but I also spent 5 years living in Williamsburg, Virginia. I have been living back in central PA since summer of 2023, so this is my second year at Benner!

This is my 10th year teaching in the classroom. Previously, I have taught a wide variety of things including middle school English Language Arts, 5th grade, 4th grade, 2nd grade, Title I reading, and I spent 2 years as a reading specialist.

I look forward to having a great year with your student in 5th grade! 

Important Classroom Information - 2023-2024 School Year

We are departmentalized in 4th and 5th grades. This means your child will have one teacher for Language Arts (that's me) and another teacher for Math, Science and Social Studies, but each student will still have a homeroom teacher. Here are a couple of important notes:

 

School Supplies:  

  •  All materials, including headphones and a mouse for their Chromebook, are supplied by the school, so purchasing additional materials is not necessary. However, students may bring supplies from home if preferred, as long as they do not distract from the learning experience.

Water Bottles:

  • Students are permitted and encouraged to bring their own water bottles from home. A sealable bottle is preferred to prevent spills.

Specials Schedule:

  • Day 1 - Art

  • Day 2 - PE

  • Day 3 - Technology

  • Day 4 - Library

  • Day 5 - PE

  • Day 6 - Music
