Teachers at Bellefonte Area School District are encouraged and expected to use the available technological resources to facilitate the development and teaching of 21st-century skills, such as collaboration, communication, creativity, critical thinking, and computing. All students and teachers have Google Workspace for Education accounts, which provide access to online file creation, sharing, storage, and access at school and from home.
The International Society for Technology in Education, or ISTE, provides standards for evaluating the knowledge and skills needed for 21st century learning and teaching. The standards can be used as a reference when planning instructional activities. Standards are available for students, educators, and education leaders.
