    I was born and raised in Bellefonte and in my years also attended Marion Walker Elementary School! After graduating from BHS I attended Lock Haven University where I received my degree in Elementary Education. I completed a student teaching assignment in first grade at Marion Walker. It was here that I discovered just how much I love teaching young children! I had the pleasure of being mentored and coached by one of the best teachers I have ever met. I fell in love with the kids and instantly knew that this is where I was meant to be, teaching youngsters! I learned so much through this experience that I will carry with me throughout my career!
     
    I spent time working at Kidz Konnection Daycare where I was able to work with students in grades K-6 as well as children ages 3-4. It was such a great experience that also helped to prepare me for my career in the classroom!
     
    I began my career at Bellefonte Elementary in 2012, where I also taught first grade for five years. I came to teach first grade at Marion Walker in 2017. One of my main goals as your child's teacher is to make them LOVE coming to school every day! That doesn't mean they won't have some tough days. As first graders, they will be working very hard and they will also be expected to follow all school and classroom rules and behave appropriately. To ensure this, I will have a behavior plan in place for our class, which will be explained more thoroughly at Back to School Night.
     
    You should know that I am here for your child and I will always have their best interest in mind! It is not only my job to teach, but also to encourage, mentor, and inspire your child. 
     
    I am extremely excited to get the year started and I have many great things planned! I hope that you and your child are just as excited!
