The End of The 13th Pennsylvania CavalryMustered out July 14, 1865After the Second Battle of Hatcher's Run they were ordered to Wilmington, North Carolina, on February 14, and arrived on March 6. Then they advanced to Goldsboro. They reported to Sherman at Fayetteville, North Carolina. They arrived in Goldsboro on March 21st. Then they were ordered to Raleigh and had one skirmish on their way there, they arrived on April 13th. Sherman set up Headquarters in Raleigh. While they were there General Johnston signed surrender papers on April 26. Also while they were there they received surrendered artillery. They served duty in Fayetteville until July and then went to Philadelphia to mustered out on July 14, 1865.
