The middle school Certified School Nurse is Rachel Griel (“Griel rhymes with “while”). Mrs. Griel has 30 years of nursing experience. She is a master’s prepared registered nurse who holds a state school nurse certificate. She attended Geisinger Medical Center School of Nursing, Penn State, and Eastern Mennonite University. She is enrolled in graduate school pursuing her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. Before becoming a school nurse, she worked in critical care and administration at Mount Nittany Medical Center. She serves on the Safety team, the Student Assistant Program team, the Professional Development Committee, and the Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging committee. She is the school nurse department chair.
She is assigned to manage the health rooms at Bellefonte Elementary School, Marion Walker Elementary School, and Bellefonte Area Middle School. You can find Mrs. Griel at Bellefonte Elementary on Wednesday and at Marion Walker Elementary on Thursday. Mrs. Griel is at the Middle School on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.
