ABSENCES:When your student is absent from school, you will need to call the attendance line first thing in the morning to report their absence. You may reach the attendance line by calling (814) 355-5466. You must also submit a written excuse. The excuse is required to be submitted by the third day after your student returns to school. There are no exceptions. It is your responsibility to make sure the excuse was successfully submitted. You may submit an excuse via email to msatt@basd.net, by sending in a paper excuse with your child, or by faxing it to (814) 353-5350. Please include the student's full name, date of absence, reason for absence, and your name and relationship to the student. An acknowledgment email will be sent to you when you email the excuse to the attendance office.Copies of the excuse forms are available in the main office or by clicking on the following link: student absence form. Do not assume your student has followed through with the submission to the attendance office. You can check the parent portal to see if the attendance office has received your excuse. Student attendance records are updated daily.EARLY DISMISSALS:When it is necessary for your student to leave school early, you will need to submit an early dismissal form or email msatt@basd.net the morning of the dismissal. Please include the student's full name, why they are being dismissed, your name and your relationship to student, and the time you would like to have the student dismissed. Forms are available via the following link: early dismissal form. Please make all efforts to schedule appointments for after school as early dismissals are a disruption to the student's day. In the event that scheduling after school is not possible, make sure to obtain verification from the appointment facility in to ensure the early dismissal is recorded as a medical absence.
EDUCATIONAL TRIP REQUESTS:
If you are considering asking permission to take an educational trip this school year, you will need to submit an Educational Trip Request Form at least 7 days prior to your trip. Please download a form from the Attendance Site, fill it out, and return it to the main office.
