    Summer 2022 Employee Spotlight

In the district’s summer 2022 Employee Spotlight feature, we highlighted three district employees. Faculty and staff were randomly selected from the district’s administration, professional staff and support staff. Here, you may find information about social studies teacher Colin Chapman, paraeducator Heather Hammers and Accounting Manager Misty Rider.

  • When Chapman explains how he got into teaching social studies, he said with a laugh that “it just sort of happened.” After all, he intended to study music education while at Mansfield University, and by happenstance got into history and social studies, instead. He's now been a teacher at Bellefonte Area High School for more than six years. Click here to read more.

  • If there’s one thing Hammers loves, it’s being a mom to her infant son, Chase. • Rider has a passion for numbers. Calling accounting an “art,” she added that the figures tell a story and it’s her job to relay the story. But when not at work, she has other hobbies and passions that include spending time with family, going to auctions, gardening, raising chickens and relaxing on her front porch.
