• BAMS student council members celebrate successful fundraising effort with first field trip in more than two years

As a celebration for raising more than $13,000 in student council's fall fundraiser, the top 50 Bellefonte Area Middle School students were honored with a field trip to Get Air in State College, which was the first one held for the group since school closed in 2020 due to the pandemic.

Money raised will help support an end-of-year field trip, which is the first one in more than two years, as well. Student council is also working on plans to hold a schoolwide dance later in the spring.

At the middle school level, activities and events are planned through student council, and money raised through donations and fundraising efforts benefit a variety of community and school organizations that include supporting first responders, assisting in hazard relief efforts and more.

During a trip on March 25, middle school teachers and faculty advisers Matt Cernuska and Jordan Eccher celebrated students who helped raise the most money with a trip to Get Air – a local trampoline park. Students spent about two hours on the jumping apparatuses, going through obstacle courses, playing games such as trampoline basketball and dodgeball, and more.
