High school students partake in PMEA music fests
The Pennsylvania Music Educators Association, also known as PMEA, held its annual music festivals throughout January and February that showcased local students in band, chorus and orchestra. Several Bellefonte Area High School students participated.
Orchestra (Jan. 12-13)- Madigan Ashe: Oboe
- Hannah Coslo: Cello
- Abbie Dermota: Cello
- Bailey Hoff: Flute
- Jack Nedrow: Percussion
- Lillian North: Bass
- Katie Nugent: Viola
- Cecilia Stanton: Trumpet
- Ella Underwood: Clarinet
- Sam Voltz: Violin 1
Katie Nugent was selected as first chair viola, and advanced to regionals and auditioned for all states. Lillian North was selected as second chair bass, and advanced to regionals and also auditioned for all states.
Chorus (Feb. 3-4)

- Caden Guizar: Tenor 1
- Samuel Henry: Bass 1
- Haley Herr: Soprano 2
- Kara Leonori: Alto 1
- Cecilia Mazzocco: Alto 2
- Cecilia Stanton: Soprano 1
Hannah Coslo, Caden Guizar and Cecilia Mazzocco qualified for Region III Chorus in March.
