• District involved in partnership with NFHS to provide live-streamed athletic events through new program

nfhsSomething called AI is now integrated into athletics at Bellefonte Area School District with a new program the athletic department partnered with to bring the community live-streamed videos of athletics events – particularly those at Rogers Stadium and the high school gymnasium.

According to Built In, AI, or artificial intelligence, “is a wide-ranging branch of computer science concerned with building smart machines capable of performing tasks that typically require human intelligence.”

Athletic Director Deb Moore said cameras were installed in the late fall through Pexelott and NFHS that were holding a special on free cameras and installation, which operates on AI technology and follows the action of the event without requiring an operator.

Other schools in the area, such as Penns Valley and Philipsburg-Osceola area school districts, also use the program. You may find Bellefonte Area-streamed athletic events, here: NFHS live-streaming of BAHS sports
