• Cheer team claims D6 title
     
    Claiming the Class 3A District 6 championship Dec. 11 helped the Bellefonte Area High School cheer team punch a ticket to states. The squad also won the large varsity division, coach Skip Headings said.
     
    To advance to the PIAA state championship, the team had to defeat three other 3A schools, which included Altoona, Mifflin County and State College area high schools.
