Students a part of keeping school library tidy
At Pleasant Gap Elementary School, students in third and fifth grades have an extra school responsibility. They’re able to help take care of the library with a project called “my shelf.” Librarian Danielle Mock said the students are assigned a bookshelf that they must manage and take care of.
“I try to give them a little responsibility and they are very excited about it because it’s their own shelf,” she said. “They take care of it, and keep it nice and neat.”
Mock said students from other grades will have the chance to participate in the “my shelf” project after the new year. It’s also a project that students partake in at Marion-Walker Elementary School.
