• Senior class to hold 4K to benefit class activities, while also giving back to the community

22The Class of 2022 is hopeful they’ll be able to have a school year full of activities that schools once offered before the pandemic – class trip, senior ball and more. Though they know anything can happen, the class, led by its officers and staff advisers Kim Gasper and Mike Wilson, are preparing to raise money for those events through a holiday-themed Raider Reindeer 4K, or 2.5 mile race.

In return, the event will also benefit the local food bank. Participants are encouraged to donate canned or nonperishable goods.

“This is the first fundraiser of the school year for us and the intention is to help defray some costs associated with senior class activities, but also bring the community together,” said Class President Domenic Nelson. “We will be helping benefit the food bank, as well, so it’s helping us out a little bit and helping out the community a little bit, too.”

rr4kWalk, jog, run or sprint, the event is open to the community on Dec. 11 at the train station at Talleyrand Park. It’s also the kickoff to Bellefonte Victorian Christmas.

The event is also seeking sponsors, which, if interested can be a part of the event by contacting Gasper at kgasper@basd.net. Learn more, here: Information. You may also register by visiting this link: Registration. Costs are $10 for pre-registration, or $15 the day of the race. The route will start at Talleyrand Park, go through Roopsburg Road and loop back around to the park.
