Mr. Anthony Fortuna

 

Anthony Fortuna is the current elementary and high school director of orchestras at Bellefonte Area School District. Anthony was born and raised in Scranton, PA and started his love of music early on in his life through attending musical theater and learning the clarinet in elementary school band. Later on in high school, Anthony picked up several band and orchestra instruments. He attended Marywood University for a Bachelors degree in Music Education with concentrations in oboe, flute, and viola. After his time at Marywood he pursued a Masters degree at Ohio University in woodwind performance/pedagogy and is currently ABD for a DMA performance/pedagogy/literature with a concentration in multiple woodwinds from James Madison University.

Orchestral music is a lifelong love and passion of Anthony’s and he intends to grow and challenge the orchestral program at Bellefonte to rise to new heights and grow to be bigger and better than ever before. Some other orchestras that Anthony has been associated with include The Electric Diamond Orchestra, Northern Tier Symphony Orchestra, The Civic Orchestra at Wyoming Seminary, The NEPA Lyric Opera Orchestra, and Marywood University’s award winning String Project.
