• ab1 kp1 Seniors recipients of TIA scholarship

    Two Bellefonte Area High School seniors received scholarships from the Tournament Indoor Association through the Tournament of Bands. Keeli Pighetti, a member of the dance team, received a $5,000 scholarship; Alexa Bressler, a majorette, received a $2,000 scholarship. Both were announced on May 3.

    Majorette coach and high school science teacher Arimani Davy said the girls were selected out of senior applicants from across the country. Additionally, they both applied and detailed their involvement in the Tournament Indoor program and explained what this scholarship meant to them.

    Pighetti has been involved in indoor throughout high school; Bressler has been a part of it since middle school.

    Last year, now BAHS graduate Natalie Giocobe was the recipience of a $1,000 scholarship. You can read more about it, here: Scholarship.

    According to its Website, Tournament Indoor Association provides an "opportunity for competitive scholastic and independent color guard, dance, jazz band, marching winds, percussion and twirlers to perform throughout our nine-state region." Learn more, here.
