• Phase 2 on schedule for Rogers Stadium

rsrProgress is made daily on the second phase of the Rogers Stadium construction and renovations project on the grounds of Bellefonte Area High School that began earlier in the spring. Aaron Barto, the district’s facilities director, said the overall project is on schedule to be completed by mid-August, with a majority of it done by the end of July.

“We really haven’t lost any time because of the type of work it is,” he said. “Other than a muddy mess, they’re just cruising along.”

Construction is done by JC Orr and Son, while other contractors include Joseph C. Hazel for plumbing, Westmoreland Electric Services for electrical and Shannon A. Smith Inc. with HVAC.

As of the beginning of June, the structural foundation has been poured and blocks have been laid. The track’s surface is expected to be installed at the end of June by Beynon Sports. There has been a delay in delivering the track’s material from Texas, due to weather. Underground piping and electrical is also being installed.

“The project should be finished (on time), which I don’t see that not happening as long as everything is being delivered on time,” Barto said. “They have made tremendous progress and the thing of it is, when it’s done, it’s going to be awesome.”

The second phase of construction is being funded by donations to the Capital Campaign. To make a contribution, visit this link: Donations
