• loi19Students sign letters of intent to continue with collegiate athletics

    Six Bellefonte Area High School student athletes signed their letters of intent on Feb. 6 committing to play a sport in college. Four students plan to play football in college, one student plans to play lacrosse and another plans to play women’s soccer.

    They are:

    • Noah Badger plans to play football at Lock Haven University and study health and physical education. He is a multiyear varsity letter-winner in football and basketball, and was a member of the 2017 Division 6 championship-winning football team.
    • Cati Besch plans to attend Juniata College for soccer, while studying bioinformatics. The goalie was a second-team Mountain League All-Star player, and other extracurricular activities include National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, band and more.
    • Rees Kelley plans to play lacrosse at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in upstate New York, while studying mechanical engineering. He also played football. Kelley is a three-time varsity team captain and two-time Midfielder of the Year recipient, and a member of the National Honor Society.
    • Chris Persiko plans to play football at Millersville University and major in criminology. He is also a varsity letter-winner in basketball and soccer. Other honors include a first-team All-State member, two-time All-Conference player and holds all school kicking records.
    • Caleb Rockey plans to play football at Bloomsburg University and major in criminal justice. He is a two-sport athlete at Bellefonte, also lettering in basketball, and ends his high school football career as a two-time first-team All-State member and two-time All-Conference player.
    • Cameron Stephens will play football at Wilkes University. During the football season, he was a first-team all-conference and student-athlete of the week.
