Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. MacNeely

¡Hola!   Soy Sra. Magistro MacNeely  and I am very happy to be teaching Elementary Spanish to the Bellefonte Community. I received my BSED in Spanish Education from West Chester University of PA and my MA in Spanish Literature from Middlebury College, in Middlebury, VT. Prior to starting a family, I taught high school Spanish at Evanston Township High School in Evanston, Illinois (GO WILDKITS)  and was an AP Spanish Language and Literature instructor and IB Spanish teacher for over eight years at Bethesda Chevy Chase High School in Bethesda, MD.  While at Bethesda Chevy Chase HS, I also coordinated the annual homestay/travel to Salamanca, Spain and chaperoned many trips to Italy, France, Spain and Latin America.  In addition to teaching Spanish in Bellefonte, I currently teach an online Spanish Course for International Baccalaureate and work online as private AP Spanish Language tutor.

I am excited to have the opportunity to interact with students in Spanish every day in the classroom setting. Whether we are singing, dancing or learning new vocabulary, my goal is to provide my students with a solid background in Spanish that will be useful to them when they enter middle and high school. My hope is that one day, all of my Bellefonte students will become bilingual speakers and learn to love the Spanish Language and Culture as much as I do.

In my spare time, I love to travel, relax with my family, go hiking, watch soccer games and curl up with a good book. Currently, my favorite author is Gordon Korman. Check out the books "Ungifted" and "Restart" if you have a chance.  Perfect for grades 4-5.

Feel free to message me with any questions.
