• Recent fieldtrips, other activities allow fourth-grade students to have fun with class lessons

ftFourth-grade students at Pleasant Gap Elementary School have been busy in May with activities, events and fieldtrips that go hand-in-hand with class curriculum taught by fourth-grade teachers Pam Grimminger and Stacey Miller.

On May 15, students took a fieldtrip to Lake Tobias Wildlife Park in Halifax and the state Capitol Building in Harrisburg. The next day, Rep. Kerry Benninghoff (R-Bellefonte) spent time with students at school and explained firsthand what it’s like be part of state government. His discussion also included historical and government facts and he participated in a question and answer session with the students.

The events were part of class lessons: an English language arts unit on “Nature’s Neighborhoods” under direction of Grimminger, and a government unit taught by Miller.
