• Assembly features national acrobatic team, students given VIP status for show after raising money for PTO

cbzAbout 65 Marion-Walker Elementary School students were given the VIP treatment last week during a school assembly that featured Chicago Boyz Acrobatic Team. It all came because they met a goal for helping raise money for the PTO's general fundraiser that helps support field trips.

Principal Karen Krisch said the students were able to hang out after the show with group members, and get autographs. Chicago Boyz were semifinalists on Season 8 of America’s Got Talent.

To help fundraise, students sold items from a general gift catalog. Included in the sale were incentives – the more you sold, the more prizes you could win, Krisch said. About 35 students went to Pizza Hut in a limo last month, as a reward for meeting sales goals. Then there were 65 kids who had VIP status for reaching a higher selling goal.
