Four Bellefonte Area seniors signed their letters of intent committing to play athletics at a designated university.

The ceremony was held Nov. 13 for those student athletes at the high school cafeteria. Three students are Bellefonte Area High School students, and one, Brett Pope, is a cyber-education student at Connections Commonwealth Charter Academy, but who lives in the Bellefonte Area School District and represents the Red Raiders.

The student athletes honored were Pope, who will run cross country at Lock Haven University; Gabbie Pighetti who will play soccer at Nazareth College in Rochester, N.Y.; Rianna Trexler who will play softball at Messiah College in Mechanicsburg; and Alexis Wetzler, who will play softball at Bloomsburg University.
