• The following clearances are required of an employee of the Bellefonte Area School District throughout the duration of employment.

    Current employees can find their Clearance Dates in Employee Portal under "Employee Demographics" on the right side under residency. Employee clearances on file need dated within 5 years. It is the employee's responsibility to ensure there is not a lapse in valid clearances. Lapse in clearances can result in unpaid leave.

    PA Criminal Record Check (Act 34)

    • https://epatch.state.pa.us - Online application.
    • Select "Submit a New Record Check" and complete.
    • Follow instructions through to the Certification Page.
    • Once the Record Check Request Results appears, click on the blue control number (retain control number for your records).
    • Click on Certification Page and print.

    PA Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151)

    • http://www.compass.state.pa.us/CWIS/public/home  - Online application.
    • Create an account or log in if you already have an account.
    • Complete clearance request application.
    • Once application is complete, they will send an email. Follow the instruction to print your certificate.

    Federal Criminal History Record (Act 114)

    • https://www.identogo.com/locations/pennsylvania
    • Click on "Digital Fingerprinting".
    • Enter Service Code 1KG6XN (FBI clearance for PDE-School Districts); For Volunteer use 1KG6Y3.
    • Select "Schedule or Manage an Appointment".
    • Complete your information.
    • Be sure to register for the PDE -School Districts (PA Dept of Education).
    • Print registration receipt to take with you to fingerprint site.

    As of January 2018, the only Centre County fingerprint site is:

    State College, PA 16801

     Additional locations are available in surrounding counties. On the day of scheduled fingerprinting, all applicants must have:

    • Valid driver's license or approved photo ID
    • Registration confirmation

    Once this is completed provide Human Resources with a copy of your fingerprint receipt to allow them to access your results.



    Mandated Reporter (Act 126):

    • Enter your user name provided in the email sent to you from Safe Schools (typically first initial last name).
    • Complete PA Act 126 Part 1 and 2. Print both certificates and send to Leslie Elder at Central Office.
    • If completing this training on a non-paid day, also send the certificates to Misty Rider along with the Support Staff Training Certificate.
    • This training is due every 5 years.

    Understanding Youth Suicide and Prevention (Act 71):

    • If you have not created an account previously, click on “Create an Account”. Enter your district email address and the Membership code provided in the video link.
    • You will receive an email with the subject “Activate Your Eduplanet21 Account”. Click on the “Activate Account” link in the email. Complete the requested Registration information and “Submit”. Enter login information and “Login”.
    • Under “My Learning Paths” click on “Understanding Youth Suicide and Prevention Act 71”. Follow prompts to complete training.
    • Print certificate and send to Leslie Elder at Central Office.
    • If completing this training on a non-paid day, also send the certificates to Misty Rider along with the Support Staff Training Certificate.
    • This is a one-time training.

    Arrest/Conviction Report and Certification Form (Act 24):

    • Required upon hiring as well as upon any applicable arrest during the duration of employment. Act 24 Form
