     Basic Format (book)

    • Provide the author’s name in last name, first name format.  
    • The title is italicized (highlight the title and click CTRL and I).  
    • The City of Publication is found on the title page, if there are multiple cities choose the city closest to your location.  
    • The Publisher and year of publication are either on the title page or the verso (back of the title page).  
    • The symbol © is next to the copyright date which is normally the year of publication.  
    • The Medium of Publication for a book, newspaper, or magazine will be the word Print.  
    • All punctuation is EXACTLY as the example below.  
    • Always indent the second and third lines.  
    • The basic form for a book citation is:

     

    Lastname, Firstname. Title of Book. City of Publication: Publisher,
    Year of Publication. Medium of Publication.

     An Image (Including a Painting, Sculpture, or Photograph)

    • Provide the artist's name in last name, first name format.
      • A second author is written firstname lastname. (same as you write your name)
    • The work of art italicized (highlight the title and click CTRL and I)
    • The date of creation.  When was the image, painting, sculpture, photograph made.
    • The institution (museum, university, church...)
    • The city where the work is housed. 
    • The name of the Website in italics (highlight the title and click CTRL and I)
    • The medium of publication (web, print, ...)
    • The date of access. (date Month. Year. you found the image) 
    • All punctuation is EXACTLY as the example below.
    • Always indent the second and third lines.  
    • The basic form for an image citation is:

    An Article from an Online Database (or Other Electronic Subscription Service)

     

    • Cite articles from online databases just as you would print sources. 
    • Provide the author’s name in last name, first name format.  
      • A second author is written firstname lastname. (same as you write your name)
    • The article title is in quotation marks (highlight the database title and click SHIFT and the apostrophe ' ).
    • The Publisher. (if available)
    • Page numbers. (if available)
      • if the number is higher than 100 the first page is written 156 but the second number is only 57
    • The title of the database italicized (highlight the title and click CTRL and I).
    • The medium of publication (web, print, email...)
    • The date of access. (date Month. Year. you found the article)
