The Bellefonte Area School District is pleased to announce that the Board of School Directors has appointed Interim Superintendent Tammie Burnaford to the position of Superintendent of Schools. Mrs. Burnaford has served as the Interim Superintendent since July 1, 2020.
As a lifelong resident of Centre County, Mrs. Burnaford has dedicated her life to children. Of her thirty-three years in education, eighteen years has been with the Bellefonte Area School District. To add to her local flair, Mrs. Burnaford has conferred all of her degrees from the Pennsylvania State University.
In the past year and during the COVID-19 pandemic, Mrs. Burnaford has worked tirelessly to lead staff in providing face-to-face instruction to our students. Additionally, her number one priority during this challenging time has always been the safety of all students and staff. Her exceptional leadership has guided staff through the past year.
