I was born and raised in Martinsburg, PA and graduated from Central High School in 1989. Following graduation, I attended Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Virginia where I majored in biology with secondary education certification and a minor in psychology.
My first teaching job was as the middle school science teacher at Shalom Christian Academy in Chambersburg, PA where I taught grades 6-8. After four years of teaching middle school, I found a new job at Bellefonte Area High School where I taught 9th grade science, biology, and advanced placement biology. I also served as an assistant wrestling coach. After a few years of teaching at BAHS, I began working half-time as a technology coordinator and district webmaster. I also began working with the IT staff during the summer months. In preparation for seeking a full-time technology job, I completed the Instructional Technology Specialist Certification program through Penn State University's World Campus. I was hired as the Instructional Technology Specialist for Spring Cove School District in 2004 and moved back to Martinsburg with my wife Geri and our two daughters. When my position at Spring Cove was changed, I began looking for a similar position in other districts. In August 2013, I was hired as the Instructional Technology Specialist for Bellefonte Area School District where I specialize in providing training, resources, and support for using technology for effective teaching and learning. In May 2020, I completed a Master of Educational Technology degree through Eduspire and Wilson College.
Geri taught math at Spring Cove Middle School from 2010 to 2014. She resigned from her teaching position in June 2014 and works as the Director of Children's Ministries at Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church. I enjoy following the Steelers, working in our yard and garden, and spending quality time with my family. I also enjoy cutting, splitting, and burning firewood.
