Big 7 Champions!!
Season Recap:
Our 2007/2008 Jr High Wrestling team had a very successful season. Perhaps the best Jr High season on record. They ended the season with a 17-1 dual meet record. Losing only to Easton at the Nazareth Duels. They also place 2nd at our own Bellefonte Invitational. Again, losing the championship to Easton. The Raiders finished up strong by winning the Big 7 championships held at Bald Eagle Area High School on 2/9/08. Coach Alterio's team successfully defended their Big 7 title by out wrestling a tough Jersey Shore team that finish 2nd. The Raiders had 8 wrestlers in the finals and 6 of them were crowned champions. They placed 15 of 17 wrestlers in the top 4. Strong wrestle-backs for third and forth places sealed the victory for this talented Jr High team. They are ranked 5th in the state by Pennsylvania Wrestling Magazine! The season is complete for our Jr High grapplers now. Great season boys!!! Good luck in post season!
