Physical form packets can be picked up at the training room at the high school or in the main office at the high school and middle school. This packet must be complete and on hand at the time of physical. YOU MUST PROVIDE A COPY OF YOUR IMMUNIZATION RECORD AT THE TIME OF THE PHYSICAL. Please make every attempt to be present for scheduled date and time. In the event of a conflict, an athlete may attend any date with the understanding that scheduled athletes have priority.
A physical examination is necessary for an athlete to be eligible to participate in an interscholastic sport. The physical must be completed after June 1st for fall sports participation and shall be effective, regardless of when performed during a school year until the next May 31st.
A reexamination or re-certification is required for each subsequent sports season if the student (a) suffers an illness or injury which renders the student unable to participate in 25% or more of the Regular Season Contests in the immediately preceding sports season; and/or (b) suffers an illness or injury which resulted in absence from school for ten (10) or more days and/or which requires surgery.
Athletes who are unable to attend the school’s sports physical examination or desire to schedule their own exam through a family physician must do so at their own expense. (Additional costs for reexaminations and/or re-certification for subsequent sports seasons will be the responsibility of the student athlete.) If scheduling a private physical, the medical form packet must be complete with physician signature and turned into the Athletic Trainer as soon as possible for processing.
Appropriate attire for the physical - shorts and T-shirt - are required. The physical provider will administer a comprehensive physical exam. Please understand that this process will take time. Your patience and understanding is requested. Any student who behaves inappropriately will be asked to leave and the physical will become the responsibility of the student-athlete.
Be sure that the completed medical form is on hand at the time of physical. This complete packet, including parent signatures gives permission for the administration of the sports physical. This packet must be turned in at the check-in station to process the physical.
If you have any questions or request further information please contact Don Amoriello at the High school, 353-5322.

Summer Camp Letter:
Dear Parents/Guardians:
The purpose of this letter is to inform you of our off-season strength and conditioning program, our TEAM camp, and provide information about summer vacations.
First, off-season strength and conditioning sessions have already started. TEAM workouts are held each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM. We will keep this schedule until the end of the school year. We have been averaging 20 to 25 student-athletes at these sessions. While this is a great start, we need everyone to make a commitment to excellence. We do understand that many of our student-athletes are involved in other sports and extra-curricular activities. We encourage and support this participation. While not mandatory, anyone interested in playing football and who is not involved in another activity is expected to attend these workout sessions. Football is an intense game. It is absolutely necessary that our student-athletes are in the proper physical condition to safely and effectively compete at a high level. An individual cannot become a football player over the summer. Moreover, a group of young men cannot become a TEAM over the course of a few weeks. Great TEAMS consist of individuals who are willing to make sacrifices and work hard TOGETHER over a significant period of time.
To assist in our Pursuit of Excellence, we have enlisted the services of Rob Oshinskie from Victory Sports in State College. He has been designing and implementing our off-season strength and conditioning program. Coach Oshinskie is a sports performance trainer who works with amateur and professional athletes. His methods and techniques will not only help your son’s development, but will allow us to train our young men in a safe, sound, and effective manner.
Second, the school board recently approved our annual TEAM camp. This camp is for all players who will be entering the tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades. The camp will be held at Lebanon Valley College from Sunday, July 13th to Wednesday, July 16th. The enclosed Commitment Sheet and camp brochure provide additional details. There are also several other forms enclosed that must be signed or initialed by each student-athlete and a parent/guardian. The following forms must be completed in order to attend camp:
Ø Commitment Sheet
Ø Field Trip Permission Form
Ø Code of Conduct Agreement
Ø Liability Release Form
Ø Student Behavior Contract for Travel
Ø Registration form from the LVC camp brochure
Finally, in an effort to not miss any football activities, many parents have asked when it would be best to schedule family vacations over the summer. Therefore, we have designated the week of July 28th as Red Raider Vacation Week. No football activities will be scheduled during this time. You can expect an additional letter to be sent out soon with our complete 2008 summer schedule. Please do not forget to check our website for important updates and reminders. As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns (zwynkoop@basd.net). Go Raiders!!!
In Raider Pride,
Coach Wynkoop
