P.I.N. Web page:
Our hope
is that this will be a useful location for you to find updates of our activities,
helpful links, etc. All suggestions welcome.
Our major
focus:
To
increase communication and information exchange among parents, faculty, staff,
and students at the Bellefonte Area Middle School.
NOTE: WE ARE NOT a fund-raising group.
P.I.N. Mailbox – We have a box in the
mailroom located next to the office. If you have any questions/concerns/ideas,
please feel free to drop a note there, and we’ll get back to you with an answer
or discuss your ideas at an upcoming meeting.
Possibilities
for the future (further
suggestions welcome):
Parent Library – we would like to provide a resource center of books, pamphlets, videos, etc. related to middle school topics dealing with such issues as academics/achievements, attitudes, drugs and alcohol, and a number of other age-related issues. Our participation will include recommendation and review of topics and literature.
Events
- family activity nights
(e.g. talent show), showcase of clubs offered at BAMS, showcase of community
activities available, speakers, etc.
Homework Club
BAMS Family Day at a Curve Game
Focus
on School District Motto/BAMS motto
– Pride Tradition Excellence/Respect; perhaps sponsoring a poster contest among
the students.
Funds:
As
indicated above, we are not a fund-raising organization, but there are ways you
may help us to obtain funds for supplies we might need to assist with
activities.
Target – If you have a Target department store credit card, every time you make a purchase with that card, Target will donate one percent of the sale to the school of your choice. Why not designate BAMS? Check out the details at Target.com
Schoolpop.com – Please note that Weis Markets no longer participates in this program, but we still encourage you shop the internet. For a complete list of vendors, please go to www.schoolpop.com/merchants. There are over 300 vendors who will donate various percentages to the school(s) of your choice. This includes vendors such as: amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, Old Navy, Wal-Mart, Dell computers, etc.
E-mail us - Contact one of us to have your name placed on the e-mail list to receive updates about meetings and events.
