We invite you to support all of the fine arts—visual and performing—at Bellefonte by becoming a Fine Arts Boosters member.

Our meetings:

We generally meet the 1st Tuesday of each month from 7:00-8:00 p.m. in the HIGH SCHOOL BAND ROOM.  We look forward to your participation.

Our major focus:

To arouse and maintain an enthusiastic interest in the various facets of the fine arts program of the Bellefonte schools; to lend all possible support, both moral and financial, to the fine arts program in the school district; to cooperate with the fine arts personnel and the School Board to the end that this program be maintained at the highest possible degree of efficiency; and to support advocacy activities for the promotion of the fine arts program in the Bellefonte Area School District.

Our activities to date:

Formerly, as Bellefonte High School Band Boosters, we have spent summers attending parades and carnivals and making many trips to the band room for practices.  We have chaperoned football games, competitions and band trips; manned an annual Labor Day weekend I-80 Coffee Break at the Snow Shoe rest stop and the Booster concession stand at all home football games; assisted in serving the PSU coaches clinic; distributed uniforms; served band banquets; created senior memory books; made phone calls; etc.

Monies raised have supported chaperone travel on spring trips, provided needed supplies for band camp, paid for the annual band banquet and senior memory books and awards, uniforms for band front, drill designs, meals for district and regional band participants, pizza/sundae parties, drum major camp, etc.

Possibilities for the future (further suggestions welcome):

As newly organized Fine Arts Boosters (FAB), we hope to continue many of the above activities with a focus on supporting all of the fine arts within the Bellefonte High School, and eventually the entire Bellefonte Area School District.  Other possibilities might include:

Receptions – in conjunction with fine arts performances

Meals – providing meals to drama students during final week of practice before performance

Publicity – assisting with publicity for fine arts activities

Ways you can help:

Support Our Students in the Bellefonte Area School District Fine Arts Program –The most important way you can help is to support all of our students in the Fine Arts Program within the school district.  Attend band, orchestra and choral concerts; drama productions; art shows; etc.  Let the students know you appreciate all of their hard work and talents in these areas.

Become a Member of the Fine Arts Boosters – Dues are $3 per person annually or $5 per couple.  Becoming a member gives you voting privileges on all fine arts boosters’ matters.  You will also be added to the newsletter mailing list and receive regular updates on happenings within the fine arts program.

Volunteer – Volunteer to chaperone, help at the concession stand, make phone calls, provide food for receptions, publicize fine arts events, etc.  If everyone does a little, no one has to do a lot.  Please use the attached membership form to indicate your interest.
