  •       Accepted the resignation of Mrs. Barbara Ivicic, cafeteria aide at Bellefonte Elementary School, effective August 17, 2006.

  •       Accepted the resignation of Mrs. Karen Spangler, cafeteria worker at Pleasant Gap and Bellefonte Area High Schools, effective August 28, 2006.

  •       Accepted the resignation of Mrs. Suzanne Woodring, cafeteria worker at Bellefonte Elementary School, effective September 8, 2006.

  •       Approved the requested transfer of Mr. Tom Arndt to the position of second shift custodian at Marion-Walker Elementary School effective August 24, 2006.

  •       Appointed Ms. Meghann Johnson as a long-term substitute school psychologist for the 2006-07 school year effective August 30, 2006.

  •       Appointed Mr. Curtis Knepper as a 6.5 hour/day, Level C Personal Care Aide at Pleasant Gap Elementary School, effective August 28, 2006.

  •       Appointed Ms. Sarah Stokes as a 6.0 hour/day Level C Classroom Assistant at Benner Elementary School, effective August 28, 2006.

  •       Appointed Ms. Rita Purnell as a 6.5 hour/day, Level C Personal Care Aide at Pleasant Gap Elementary School, effective August 28, 2006.

  •       Appointed Ms. Sandy Dieterle as a 6.5 hour/day, Level C Personal Care Aide at Pleasant Gap Elementary School, effective August 28, 2006.

  •       Appointed Mr. Titus Morehead as a long-term substitute teacher at Bellefonte Elementary School for the first semester of the 2006-07 school year, effective August 28, 2006.

  •       Appointed Mrs. Lori Phillips as a long-term substitute elementary art teacher for the 2006-07 school year, effective August 28, 2006.

  •       Approved salary changes for the following staff members who moved to a new step on the salary schedule for additional credits earned:  Michael Fedisson, Robert Irwin, Andy Caruso, John Tobias, Desiree Packer, and Jennifer Bowersox.

  •       Approved the following Extra-Duty Extra-Pay Positions:  Shaun McMurtrie (Drama Advisor at BAMS); David Gregor (Middle School Intramural Coordinator); Titus Morehead, Jeff Maudry, Suzanne Thompson, Brad Milanese, and Matt Burrows as Intramural Instructors.

  •       Approved mentors for new professional staff members.

  •       Approved Jennifer Anderson as a student intern for Pam Dunn and John Wetzler.

  •       Approved school police for the 2006-07 school year.

  •       Approved re-leveling of the Management Information Systems Clerk position from Level F to Level G, effective September 13, 2006.

  •       Approved additions to the Professional and Support Staff Substitute Listings.

  •       Approved Sally Cole as a volunteer at Marion-Walker Elementary School and Adele Benson as a volunteer at Bellefonte Elementary School.

Education and School Activities

  •       Approved the Professional Employee Supervision/Evaluation Plan.

  •       Gave permission to advertise for bids for a fluid cooler to provide air conditioning for the Bellefonte Area Middle School.

  •       Approved activity trips for Mrs. Marilyn Knoffsinger to take BAHS students to the Pennsylvania High School Theatre Conference in Connellsville, PA, on November 30 – December 3, 2006; and the Indoor Guard, Silks and Rifles, and Indoor Majorette Competition Squads to attend the TIA Championships in Wildwood, New Jersey, May 3-5, 2007.

  •       Approved the Revised Act 48 Professional Development Plan.

 Finance

  •       Approved Change Orders for the Marion-Walker Elementary School Project and Bellefonte Area High School Project.

  •       Gave approval to purchase one John Deere 2305 tractor and 62C deck through the Pennsylvania State Purchasing Contract.

  •       Accepted the quotation for athletic storage fixtures from Hertz Furniture Systems in the amount of $6,093.88 and administrative office suite furniture for the high school project at a cost of $12,469.32.

  • ¨      Gave approval for Mr. Robert Lumley-Sapanski and Dr. James T. Masullo, Jr. to attend the National School Boards Association Annual Conference in San Francisco, April 14-17, 2007

  • ¨      First Reading of Policy No. 217 – Graduation Requirements and Policy No. 250 – Student Recruitment

  • ¨      Appointed a Tax Study Commission in accordance with Act 1 of 2006.

  • ¨      Approved the Surety Agreement for Walker Township to install required improvements related to the Marion-Walker Elementary School Additions and Renovations Project.

  • ¨      Gave approval for Relay for Life to use Rogers Stadium and adjacent fields on June 22-23, 2007.

  • ¨      Declared Science Interactions for Grades 6, 7, and 8 as surplus books
