At the meeting of the Bellefonte Area School Board held on Tuesday, July 18, 2006, the following action was taken:

 

District

  • Approved the minutes of the July 20, 2006, Regular Meeting

  • Approved the Treasurer’s Report

  • Approved the Board Bill Lists associated with the following accounts:  General Fund, Athletics Fund, Construction, Cafeteria Fund, High School Activities Fund, and Middle School Activities Fund

Personnel

  •  Accepted the resignation of Mr. Mark Feldman, Vice-Principal at Bellefonte Area Middle School, effective August 11, 2006

  • Accepted the resignation of Mrs. Mary Balatti, Art Teacher at Bellefonte Area High School, effective August 23, 2006

  • Accepted the resignation of Ms. Gena Kost, English and ESL Teacher at Bellefonte Area High School, effective August 25, 2006

  • Appointed Ms. Barbara Ivicic as a 2-hour/day Level A Cafeteria Assistant with initial assignment at Bellefonte Elementary School

  • Appointed Mrs. Tanya Packer as an elementary teacher with initial assignment at Marion-Walker Elementary School

  • Appointed Mr. Shawn Barbrow as a secondary guidance counselor with initial assignment at Bellefonte Area High School

  • Approved the transfer of Mr. Terrence Bandel to the position of Vice-Principal at Bellefonte Area Middle School effective July 19, 2006

  • Appointed Mr. Neil Cronin as a secondary English teacher with initial assignment at Bellefonte Area High School

  • Appointed Ms. Chera Mason as a Reading Specialist with initial assignment at Bellefonte Elementary School

  • Appointed Mr. Adam Moffa as a secondary English teacher with initial assignment at Bellefonte Area High School

  • Approved a salary change for Mrs. Brenda Rogers for the 2006-07 school year from B30-8 to M-8

  • Appointed Ms. Nancy Kuhn as a secondary Family & Consumer Sciences teacher with initial assignment at Bellefonte Area High School

  • Appointed Mr. Erick Edler as an elementary Guidance Counselor

  • Appointed Mr. Nathaniel Wharton as a high school Science Teacher

  • Approved Elizabeth Young and Sarah Dunkle as Summer School teachers at Bellefonte Elementary School

  • Appointed Extra-Duty Extra Pay personnel for the 2006-07 school year

  • Approved an uncompensated leave for Ms. Vickie Struble on October 20-27, 2006, for personal reasons

  • Approved volunteers for athletics

  • Approved Technology Coordinators and Technology Trainers/Facilitators for the 2006-07 school year

Education and School Activities

  • Approved recognition of the affiliate booster clubs for 2006-07

  • Approved recognizing the Class of 2007 Parents’ Organization

  • Approved the establishment of a new student activity account for the Class of 2010

Finance

  • Approved the District’s continued participation in State and Federal Programs and Grants for the 2006-2007 school year:  Title I, Part D and Title III

  • Approved a Bellefonte Area School District Season Athletic Pass for general admission to all home regular season junior high and high school athletic events

Other

  • Approved attendance at the PSBA School Leadership Conference for school board members on October 10-13, 2006
