Bellefonte Bulletin - 2005

 
 

At a special meeting of the Bellefonte Area School Board held on Monday, November 15, 2005, the following action was taken:
 

  • Approved the minutes of the October 18, 2005, and October 24, 2005, Board Meetings.
  • Authorized payment of bills for the following accounts:  General Fund, Athletics Fund, Construction Fund, Cafeteria Fund, High School Activities Fund, and Middle School Activities Fund.
  • Approved the Investment Report for October 2005.

 Personnel
 

  • Appointed Mr. Gene Martz as a 2-hour Level A cafeteria aide effective November 21, 2005.  Mr. Martz’s initial assignment is at Pleasant Gap Elementary School.
  • Accepted the resignation of Ira Mann, Middle School Custodian, effective December 6, 2005.
  • Approved leave requests.
  • Approved additions to the Professional and Support Staff Substitute Listing.
  • Approved student interns.
  • Approved Extra-Duty Extra-Pay Appointments.
  • Approved volunteers for Swimming, Girls’ Basketball, Wrestling, and Gymnastics.
  • Approved the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the BAEA and the Bellefonte Area School District for the period July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2011.
  • Approved the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Bellefonte Area Education Support Professionals Association and the Bellefonte Area School District for the period July 1, 2005, through June 30, 2009.

 Education and School Activities
 

  • Approved homebound instruction for a Bellefonte Area High School student.
  • Gave approval for the Bellefonte Area High School Concert Band, Marching Band, Choir, Jazz Band, Orchestra, and Indoor Twirling Squad to participate in the Festival of Music adjudication in Ocean City, Maryland, May 4-6, 2006.
  • Appointed the Bellefonte Area School District Wellness Committee.
  • Approved the re-activation of the Bellefonte Area High School Ski Club for the 2005-06 school year and approved Jonathan Mayes as Ski Club advisor.
  • Approved the following courses to be included as approved planned courses for Agricultural Sciences Vocational reporting:  Agriculture Mechanics 2 and Landscape and Grounds
  • Approved Adult Education classes for Winter 2006.

 Finance
 

  • Approved the 2006-07 Budget Calendar

 Other

 

  • Approved a request from Relay for Life to use Rogers Stadium and adjacent fields on June 23-24, 2006.
  • Approved an agreement with Saf-T-Net for the ALERTNOW program.
  • Approved CMT Laboratories to perform Labor and Industry required inspections for the Marion-Walker Elementary School project.
  • Approved an agreement with Centre County Housing Authority for a storm water easement agreement related to the Bellefonte Area High School Renovations project.
  • Approved items for salvage.
