Bellefonte Bulletin - 2005

 
 

At the meeting of the Bellefonte Area School Board held on Tuesday, January 11, 2005, the following action was taken: 

  • Amended the 2004-2005 School Calendar to make January 27, 2005, a snow make up day and January 28, 2005, a teacher clerical day.

  • Approved Kristin L. Hockenberry as a Personal Care Aide at the Bellefonte Area Middle School, effective February 1, 2005.

  • Approved the transfer of Jennifer Guffey from Middle School Cafeteria Aide to Level C Cashier at Bellefonte Elementary, effective January 17, 2005.

  • Approved the transfer of Kellie Gibboney from Bellefonte Elementary Cafeteria Aide to Level C Cashier at Bellefonte Elementary, effective January 17, 2005.

  • Approved leave requests for Michele Hammersla-Quick, Traci Wolfe, and Darlene Benner.

  • Approved additions to the Professional and Support Staff substitute lists.

  • Approved student interns for Don Amoriello, Karen Drosnes, Lisa Packer, and Barbara Houtz.

  • Approved Matthew Martin as Key Club Co-Advisor at Bellefonte Area High School.

  • Approved volunteers for wrestling.

  • Approved homebound instruction requests.

  • Approved student activity trips to Columbia University in New York City, and the Gettysburg National Military Park.

  • Approved a revision to the total number of credits needed for graduation from 24.5 to 25.5 by the addition of one mathematics credit.  This will be phased in for students who will be entering 9th grade in the 2005-06 school year.

  • Approved workshop requests for John Wetzler, Gregg Kohlhepp, and Teresa Stouffer.

  • Accepted donations from Sam’s Club #6533 and Mr. Larry W. Fry.

  • Approved Dr. Thomas Ciuchta as school dentist for the 2004-05 and 2005-06 school years.

  • Approved an upgrade to the financial computer software package to the ProSoft Windows-Based system at a cost not to exceed $50,000.

  • Approved a revised Computer Buy Program.

  • Approved a contract to replace the emergency generator at Bellefonte Elementary School with a Kohler 15RYG.

  • Approved listing a 1988 Dodge Van as salvage and advertising the van for sale.

  • Approved the submission of PLANCON Part A to the Pennsylvania Department of Education for the Marion-Walker Renovation Project

  • Set up Act 34 Hearings for the High School Building/Renovation Project and the Marion-Walker Elementary School Building/Renovation Project for March 1, 2005, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
