The National Honor Society at Bellefonte Area High School is sponsoring a clothing drive for the Day of Caring. The collection box for Bellefonte Elementary School is located outside of the office. Please place items in the box by October 1. The boxes will be collected October 2 (The Day of Caring), and the Honor Society students will sort the clothing and deliver it to the Faith Center.
WELCOME!
Please welcome Miss Lauren Robinson who is an intern working with Mrs. Thompson, the school counselor, this school year. She will be here 3 days a week through May 2009 and will be doing a lot of what Mrs. Thompson does: individual counseling, group counseling, conducting classroom guidance lessons and anything else that is needed.
She is from Hollidaysburg, PA and currently attends PSU pursuing a Masters degree in the Counselor Education program.
She has a special interest in career development and will be working in all the classrooms on implementing the new career standards that were recently passed by the State. They include: career awareness and preparation, career acquisition (getting a job), career retention and advancement and entrepreneurship.

TUTORING QUESTIONS
We’ve received telephone calls to ask if we’ll be offering free tutoring the same as we have in the past. Unfortunately, the funding for tutoring has been cut. We’ll be able to offer some tutoring, but only about a quarter of the hours we were able to offer last year.
In October, we will be contacting parents whose children will be offered tutoring. We greatly appreciate all the work you do with your children to help them with learning!!!
WORDS THAT COOK – PARENTING WITH CHILDREN’S BOOKS
