PTO Volunteering Opportunities

VOLUNTEERING AT BELLEFONTE ELEMENTARY

According to the district's volunteer policy, any person spending more than five (5) days volunteering at Bellefonte Elementary (or any Bellefonte Area building) is required to update their volunteer status. As a Registered Volunteer, you may sign up to volunteer for events as many times as you would like, attend field trips, and other events outside of the school (this includes travel to other schools for events and competitions).

In order to update your status, volunteers must complete three documents, mandated by the state of Pennsylvania for any person who works in direct contact with children.

1. The Volunteer Form and Statement of Confidentiality Form (can be completed online)
2. ACT 34 Clearance (criminal history)
3. ACT 151 Clearance (child abuse history)
(ACT 34 and 151 paperwork can be obtained at the District Central Office. Click here for an electronic copy of ACT 151 Clearance)

You will also be asked to schedule a Tuberculosis (TB) Test with your physician and the results must be submitted in order to be considered.

You may submit documentation as long as it has been completed within the calendar year. Any documentation that is older than one (1) year will need to be renewed. You may submit at any time and once submitted and approved by the District School Board, you will be a Registered Volunteer. Your status will remain as long as you have a child in our building, provided that you volunteer one (1) day each year.
