Support Staff Openings

 

Position: MIDDLE SCHOOL ATTENDANCE CLERK 

Duties:                                  To maintain accurate attendance/student information records for all students in the building, and to assist the building secretary with clerical duties.  Answer telephones; perform all student attendance functions using a child accounting/attendance database system; track absences; process absence letters; process paperwork to the District Magistrate’s Office; maintain discipline records; assist in processing and mailing report cards; calculate monthly enrollment totals; calculate percent of attendance on a daily basis;  and, perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:
            Academic:                 Minimum – High school diploma.
                                             Preferred – Post secondary business training.

            Experience:               Minimum – Two years of experience in a clerical position.
                                            Preferred – Two years experience in public education working
                                                with student information systems.

Other Skills:
                                            Mathematical – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of
                                                measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
                                                Ability to compute percentages.
                                            Effective communication skills.
                                            Computer skills to include Microsoft Office Products. 

Work Day:                             7.50 hours/day

Work Year:                            247 days/year; 12-month position

Level:                                    D - Minimum Pay Rate - $12.41/hour

Testing Requirement:              Written and Performance

Van Driver - Bellefonte Area School District seeks a van driver to provide safe and reliable transportation for school students, as well as provide delivery of various goods and services throughout the district. This is a year-round position with an 8 hour daylight shift with an additional one hour lunch break.  This is a Level E position at an hourly rate $12.81.  Qualified candidate will have a valid PA license showing no driving infractions, and the ability to interact pleasantly with parents, staff and students.  It is necessary to frequently lift and/or move up to 80 lbs. or more. Substitute Openings

 

    Substitute School Crossing GuardsThe Borough of Bellefonte is seeking individuals to serve as substitute school crossing guards to fill in when a regular crossing guard is unable to work. Crossing guards are responsible for maintaining safety at assigned intersections. This position works split shifts, and may perform job duties in inclement weather. This position only works when school is in session. Successful candidates will be required to obtain Criminal Background and Child Abuse History clearances. Rate of pay is $10.28/shift.
